ON TRAVEL| Don’t be confused. I am not in any part of Uragon Provinces or I should say-I have
never been to Bicol Region. When we say Bicol we usually associate “Sili” and “Pili”.
These photographs of Bicol’s famed product were taken in Alabang (Muntinlupa City). While our neighbor is busy sun –drying the pili nuts she got from her hometown in
Bicol, I’m quite busy taking photographsJ.
I know Bicol Region has a lot to offer- from food to places of interests/adventures plus its
own unique cultures and traditions. That’s why I am now listing this
Northeast part of the country as No. 1 in my list of plan SIDETRIPs for 2013.

My parents are both from Bicol and everytime I visit Pinas, I make sure I visit Bicol. It's a wonderful place. Life is so simple and the food are sure to impress your tummy, pili being one of them. You should go! ^_^

ReplyDeleteI've tasted pili nuts but mostly when it's already a pili nut brittle which is a common pasalubong from Bicol. The postcard series looks like an interesting concept.
ReplyDeleteI knew pili nuts but I never tasted them yet and is planning to have one since a friend of mine will be on bicol by Christmas.:D
ReplyDeleteA Bicolana colleague brought Pili nuts before but didn't taste it. I must when she brings pili nuts again. :)

ReplyDeleteBeen to Caramoan Island a year ago and nagsawa kami sa pili. Ang hirap lang basagin ang shell. BTW where are you in Muntinlupa? Me sa Soldiers' Hills.

ReplyDeleteI didn't even know pili nuts were Bicol products! I would always think "Bicol Express" when I hear the province's name.

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite nuts, the Pili nut. When I know someone going for vacation to Bicol, I always ask them for sweet pili nuts as pasalubong. They are so yummy!

ReplyDeleteI've been to Naga and Caramoan but never had the chance to buy or taste pili nuts there. I'm also planning a return trip next year coz I've yet to explore Bicol. :)

ReplyDeleteI miss this, my father is from Bicol and we always have pili ,every time some relatives comes to our house for a visit or vacation. I used hammer to crack these nuts and it is fun.

ReplyDeleteI remember our househelp who was from Bicol. Everytime she goes for a vacation I always ask her to bring Pili nuts. I prefer those with shells than the sweetened ones.
